Facebook, the social network created by Mark Zuckerberg, has been a great window for users to connect with their artists. In the case of Peruvian folk singers, William Luna from Cusco heads the list with the largest number of followers. The interpreter of “Niñachay” (2000) and “You come and you go” (1999) is followed by 1.2 million.
After him comes Sonia Morales with 1,029,629, followed by Dina Páucar with a million followers. The exponent of the southern huayno Yarita Lizeth Yanarico, ‘La chinita del amor’, with 112,748 followers, also stands out. Very close is ‘The Bride of Peru’ Amanda Portales (116,000) and Silverio Urbina from Cajamarca closes the top with 76,307.
