The organizers of the event announced that the Kingdom of Norway is the guest of honor this year, with expectations that “DIHAD” this year will attract about 16,000 participants and visitors from 154 countries. More than 900 non-governmental organizations, humanitarian associations and international brands are participating in this session, and the topics of discussion this year include humanitarian diplomacy, human security issues, the ability to access services, climate change and displacement, in addition to research into global health challenges and the role of new actors.
DIHAD 2024 activities include the participation of 131 speakers from specialists in the humanitarian field around the world, discussing vital topics through 24 main sessions, in addition to 144 innovative workshops that provide training and explore solutions of importance in the field of humanitarian diplomacy.
The Chairman of the Sustainable Humanitarian Organization “DIHAD” and Chairman of the Global Scientific Advisory Council “Desap”, Ambassador Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, said that the conference aims to enhance cooperation in humanitarian issues by strengthening the role of humanitarian diplomacy, which is one of the most important ways to achieve peace, with a focus on building a future. An international initiative that promotes the values of justice and solidarity at the national and international levels, stressing that the UAE has been and continues to be a pioneer in supporting those in need around the world and alleviating their suffering.
In turn, the Executive Director of the DIHAD Foundation for Sustainable Humanitarian Work and the Director of DISAP, Ambassador Gerhard Putman Kramer, referred to the DIHAD review of the basic principles of humanitarian diplomacy, including international humanitarian law and human rights, with an emphasis on the importance of accepting universal humanitarian principles and reaching beneficiaries. .
