Escuinapa.- Only 13 years old Diego, a son of agricultural laborers faces a tough test, faces a brain tumor that has completely undermined his health, to the point of putting his life at risk.
The younger suffers from severe malnutrition that has impeded his physical development and that apparently has caused his health to become complicated in recent months, lives in extreme poverty next to his parents and two little brothers younger than him.
During the ordinary session of council number 6, in general matters, Blanca Estela García Sánchez, municipal president of Escuinapa, Sinaloa, took the opportunity to raise the situation that Diego is experiencing and request the intervention of the president of DIF, so that he will explain in detail the situation experienced by this family of agricultural day laborers residing in the Isla del Bosque syndicate.

“The situation that this minor is experiencing is very sad and unfortunate, he is a member of a family of agricultural day laborers, they are experiencing something truly depressing, he is facing a serious illness. It is a case that the councilor Santiago Lora channeled to us, currently the minor is hospitalized in the Culiacán pediatric hospital, ”said the municipal president.
With the consent of the council, Alberto Vázquez Guzmán, president of DIF Escuinapa reported in detail on the situation Diego is experiencing.
He related that at the beginning of the year the governor Santiago Lora channeled Diego’s case to them, he does not see, he has lost his sight, there was no clear diagnosis, they said he had meningitis, some studies were done and it was found that the minor have a head tumor, emergency was operated.
“In order to carry out this procedure, the councilor Lora, the mayor and a server contributed to carry out the study and have a specific diagnosis of the disease,” he indicated.
With the support of the social workers of the Culiacán pediatric hospital, they looked for a way to carry it out and carry out the studies at no cost.
Diego is a under 13 years of age, is hospitalized in the pediatric hospital of Culiacán, he underwent an emergency operation of the central nervous system, in order to perform the surgery, the equipment was rented, the cost was 31 thousand 668 pesos, said expense is owed, so as municipal authorities They look for a way to be able to face this payment.
This is the reason why, the president of DIF Escuinapa appeared before the council, to request the support of the councilors, during the sixth session of the council, to invite them to join this noble cause and together carry out activities that contribute to raising resources. that allow to cover these costs, to follow up, since the minor will have to continue under medical treatment, to recover his health.
“Fortunately the child has responded well to the operation, he has begun to recover, but the expenses continue, the minor faces severe malnutrition that led him to this critical state of health,” he said.
The municipal official explained that Diego is under the care of his mother who remains in a shelter in Culiacán and his other two brothers, have been channeled to a government institution for their protection, since his father faces addiction problems and his safety was at risk.
