It appears that the date of the open beta for Diablo 2 Resurrected, the upcoming remaster of the classic action RPG, leaked ahead of its official announcement.
The way this open beta date for Diablo 2 Resurrected it was leaked thanks to the page dedicated to the game on the Microsoft Store. In this page, in fact, it is mentioned that an open beta would take place starting August 17, 2021.
After being noticed by some fans on Reddit, the Microsoft Store page was quickly modified for remove the mention of this date.
However, some were able to capture a screenshot of the launch date before it was removed, as you can see in the tweet below:

It should be noted that this open beta seems to take place over two different weekends. Therefore, it is difficult to know whether this date of August 17th can be accurate or not. Also, August 17th will fall on a Tuesday, a strange day of the week for the start of a beta. However, this may be an early access stage that may be available to select players prior to its actual launch.
In any case, this is not a rosy time for Blizzard, which has been targeted in the last few weeks after the state of California filed a lawsuit against the publisher on allegations of harassment and sexism in the workplace. Diablo 2 Resurrected is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One on September 23, 2021.
