Yesterday, the Community Development Authority in Dubai inaugurated Umm Suqeim Council in the presence of the Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, and a number of directors of government departments in Dubai, as well as a large number of people and dignitaries of the region, representatives of the media, and influencers of communication channels social.
Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan stressed the importance of neighborhood councils in promoting awareness among neighborhood residents, improving preventive measures, and developing family awareness programs, to consolidate concepts of national identity among young people and protect them from issues that may affect their safety and the cohesion of their families and society, such as drugs, indicating that the neighborhood meeting in The councils and attracting them to activities and events greatly helps in strengthening cohesion, warding off foreign concepts and dealing with them with wise solutions that preserve the integrity and cohesion of the family and society.
He said that the councils create an environment of communication and social cohesion based on brotherhood and affection between the people of the same neighborhood, or neighboring neighborhoods, and the presence of the councils means the presence of family cohesion between the various families in the region, and plays a role in strengthening the ties between the community.
He added, “The leadership has spared no effort to support projects to establish neighborhood councils in various regions with the aim of improving the quality of life for citizens of all groups. These projects have attached great importance to their role in preserving culture and society from intellectual invasion and foreign concepts, but we still need to Spreading the culture of councils among young people, encouraging them to frequent them, informing them of their importance and their social, cultural and educational role, urging them to participate in them in a positive way, and developing targeted plans and programs that occupy their spare time for the benefit of them by organizing purposeful seminars and educational sessions, so that those councils do not turn into Places to waste time, and to be preoccupied with other things that may lead to the opposite of the goal for which those councils were set.”
He stressed “the need to maintain the security and safety of neighborhood councils and to impose censorship on their visitors, especially strangers who have nothing to do with the neighborhoods in which these councils are located, and desecrate in them for goals and motives that may be malicious and lead to ominous matters among our children, as well as spreading awareness among young people of the concept of censorship. Self-determination and preventing strangers from entering among them in their councils, and reporting them in case of suspicion of their bad intentions.
He expected that Umm Suqeim Council would contribute to providing solutions and opportunities to develop social services initiatives that are at the heart of the requirements of the people of the region.
For his part, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, Ahmed Julfar, said that Umm Suqeim Council meets the directions of the leadership by providing the latest facilities in the neighborhoods of the citizens of Dubai, in a way that enhances the outcomes of social services and contributes to developing the quality of life in the region.
He continued: “We expect Umm Suqeim Council to be an important center for enhancing communication between the people of the region, transferring knowledge between generations, and consolidating the concepts of national identity among young people, as well as providing an ideal place for exchanging proposals and ideas in a way that helps develop initiatives and social services that stem from the aspirations of the people.”
