In presenting its range for the Italian market DFSK was clear: feet on the ground, but no desire to do the so-called homework. In short, the Chinese car manufacturer is thinking big: there is talk of at least 3,000 registrations in all of 2025, about three times more than the company hopes to bring home in 2024. To reach this target, DFSK can also count on two new models presented in recent days: E5 PHEV and Glory 600.
DFSK E5 PHEV
Starting from the E5 PHEV, let’s talk about the first hybrid model of the DFSK brand: it is labelled as a D-segment SUV, in light of its generous dimensions (4760×1865×1710 mm). Its strong point is the combination of modern exterior and spacious interior: the cockpit has in fact been set up for accommodate up to 7 people. As mentioned, it is a plug-in hybrid SUV: the 4-cylinder in-line combustion engine has a displacement of 1,498 cc and a maximum power of 81 kW (110 hp), and is combined with a 130 kW (180 hp) electric unit.
Electrification is the protagonist
The battery takes 4 hours to fully charge, with a battery capacity of 17.52 kWh: translated, the zero-emission autonomy is approximately 87 kilometers, while it exceeds 1,000 kilometers in combination with petrol. Aesthetically speaking, the body is available in the colors Gray, Black, Gold, Green. A final comment on the design and interior features: Worthy of a mention are the Dot Matrix style grille with the LED E logo in the centre, the LED lights along the entire rear profile, the 19″ wheels, the leather seats, the panoramic roof and the 10.25″ SD touch screen.
DFSK Glory 600
From plug-in hybrid to petrol/LPG. Because it is precisely this dual fuel that drives the new Glory 600: like the E5 PHEV, this car is also categorized as a D-segment SUV, has the capacity to accommodate up to 7 occupants and enjoys visually striking dimensions, to be precise 4720x1865x1785 mm. As a base it mounts a 1.5 TGDi supercharged, petrol: it is a 4-cylinder in-line and 16 valve engine of 1,499 cc, capable of delivering 185 HP of power and 300 Nm of maximum torque, for a top speed of 180 km/h. But as mentioned, it can also accommodate the combination with LPG: we are talking about a Tank capacity of approximately 58Lfor a range in LPG of approximately 285 km.
How does it go on the road?
Small side note: we had the opportunity to drive this latest SUV on the road for a handful of kilometers. First impressions: steering not perfectly smooth but good road holding, in just over 15 kilometres of city driving we recorded consumption settled at 8.2L/100 km, but these are values that can be assumed to be lower if driving on longer stretches and not only in cities. In any case, the price list starts at 29,588 euros (the E5 PHEV starts at 36,888 euros), an element that makes this thermal D-SUV extremely competitive on the market.
