The main church of Santiago yesterday hosted a mass and a brief procession in honor of the saint
The Jumilla festivities continued yesterday with a cloistered procession with the image of San Roque, protector of the town, who is credited with his special intercession in times of pandemic. The event was held in the Greater Church of Santiago. As tradition dictates, at eight o’clock in the morning, the saint went out into the street from the south door and reached the north entrance of the temple, since processions are prohibited by the Covid-19.
The parish flag opened the procession, and after the insignia, all the assistants and the saint. The women closed the procession. Likewise, the Holy Rosary was prayed and the litanies were sung, always respecting tradition, as highlighted by the president of the Brotherhood of San Roque, Nicasio Abellán.
