Israel strengthens its forces in Lebanon
The Israeli army said it sent the 146th Division to southern Lebanon, the first reserve division to be deployed across the border, and that it expanded ground operations against Hezbollah from southeastern Lebanon to its southwest.
A military spokesman refused to disclose the number of forces that were present in Lebanon at a specific time.
But the army announced earlier that three more army divisions are operating there, which means that thousands of soldiers are likely on Lebanese territory.
The escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has killed more than a thousand people in Lebanon over the past two weeks and pushed more than a million people to flee.
