An unreasonable increase in housing prices is unacceptable and violates antitrust laws. Russian developers were warned about this by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) in its Telegram-channel.
The press service also emphasized that they had already sent letters to major companies urging them to comply with antitrust laws. “The agency recalls that the Law on Protection of Competition prohibits actions that may lead to unreasonable price increases, and draws attention to the need for responsible behavior of market participants,” the FAS said.

The department also said that employees of some real estate agencies received warnings. The FAS considered that the statements of officials of these companies artificially create increased demand in the housing market, which leads to an increase in prices for buyers.
Earlier in March, it was reported that developers working in the Moscow region began to massively revise apartment prices due to an increase in the key rate by the Central Bank, a record rise in mortgage prices and rush demand in the market. Only from March 1 to March 2, developers have changed the price for 44 percent of flats and suites in the Moscow region.
