He pointed out that “Al-Araji discussed with the Lebanese Minister of Defense and his accompanying delegation the strengthening of brotherly relations between Baghdad and Beirut, and ways to advance them. The meeting also discussed the development of security and military cooperation between the two countries, including the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Iraqi and Lebanese ministries of defense in the military field.” “.
Al-Araji assured the Lebanese Minister of Defense, according to the statement, that “Iraq is keen on its Arab depth and seeks to consolidate the security and stability of the region,” noting that “disintegration, rivalry and conflicts are not in the interest of the Arabs.”
And he indicated that “the principles of wisdom, moderation and tolerance must be the choice in confronting crises in the region.”
For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Defense stressed “the importance of paying attention to the common interests that unite the Arab brothers, and seeking to strengthen them, in a manner that serves the interests that unite the Arab countries.”
