Bungie will release numerous details on this in an imminent broadcast, but several details have come to light.
TO Bungie he’s not good at hiding the secrets of The Witch Queen, the expansion of Destiny 2 which will be formally unveiled today during the D2 Showcase. Very precise details circulate on the internet that have been progressively confirmed over the last few weeks, but just in case there were still any doubts about its veracity, details of the downloadable are also sneaked into the PlayStation Store. Beware, spoilers are coming!
According to the information, the expansion takes us into the throne world of SavathûnOn Twitter, Dexerto’s Destiny-focused division collects screenshots from Sony’s Australian store that encompass images and information about TWQ. Attending to this source, the expansion will allow us to delve into the throne world of Savathûn —Hive deity and Oryx’s sister — as a new explorable location. Our mission as guardians is to discover “how she and the enlightened hive stole the Light.”
The expansion also introduces a new melee weapon archetype, the glaive; which has combos of its own, can be cast, and can even deploy a shield. Parallel to this, comes the possibility of creating weapons (crafting) with their own characteristics and statistics, although of course we will have to wait a little longer to learn all the details about it.
Those up to date on leaks will know why Savathûn has taken over the Light, what kind of faction he leads and how he fights, and even who is the final boss of the raid. We prefer to leave that information, as well as that related to later seasons and Lightfall, in the immensity of the internet.
The Witch Queen will arrive in early 2022, and of course will have a Deluxe Edition that gives access to content seasons 16–19 and themed ornaments.
