The Blagoveshchensk court sent Marat Arustamov, deputy general director of the Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities (operator of civilian cosmodromes in Russia, TsENKI), into custody for two months until December 20. According to him, Arustamov is suspected of fraud under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation when performing contract work at the Vostochny cosmodrome. The case was initiated by the FSB department for the Amur region. The details of the crime in which Arustamov is suspected were not commented in court.
Arustamova was detained on October 20 in Moscow and sent by plane to Blagoveshchensk. He is suspected of receiving kickbacks for financing work carried out by the Respect-SM construction company. Its general director Alik Aleksanyan testified against Arustamov, he is also in custody. A criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud on an especially large scale”).
