The deputies became interested in the idea of taking into account personal growth coaches and business coaches. About it RIA News said the first deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova.
According to her, it is necessary to resolve the issue of creating a register of infogypsies. In turn, the first deputy chairman of the Duma Control Committee Dmitry Gusev explained Vedomosti, which also considers options for certifying online coaching services, their licensing, and specifying in contracts the obligation to return funds if the paid service is not provided.
Gusev also noted that among the infogypsies there are many scammers who provide poor quality services. “For example, psychological courses are fraught with health problems,” he specified, noting that the inter-factional working group, which was decided to be created in the State Duma, would fight against this.
In January, the billionaire and president of the Skolkovo Foundation, Viktor Vekselberg, announced the need to control business training and personal growth training. The entrepreneur called such courses “nightmarish” and emphasized that their creators “sell themselves” more than educate consumers. According to him, the activities of people who sell information products that have no practical value – they are usually called infogypsies – sometimes “lead to tragic consequences”, and called on the Russian authorities to deal with this issue.
Earlier, TV presenter and blogger Ksenia Sobchak condemned celebrities and popular bloggers selling marathons. Sobchak called those who sell products of no practical value for earnings and self-development information gypsies and mocked their courses.
