Sinaloa.- As “machista” and “misogynistic” statements were described the expressions of the Salvador Alvarado council councillor, Romeo Gelinec Galindo Inzunza, by the deputies of Morena, PAS and PRI, who reiterated applying an estrangement, a public apology to all women and learn more about the issue of gender violence.
In this Tuesday’s session of the Permanent Delegation, the deputy Juana Minerva Vázquez González, from Morena, described the statements issued by the aforementioned councilor as reprehensible and regrettable.
“I will not repeat his words because they do not deserve to continue to be echoed, but I do take advantage of this platform to express my total rejection of this dishonorable situation,” he said.

He announced that he will request the Commission for Gender Equality and the Family of Congress to issue an expulsion to the councilor and request a public apology.
“It is these attitudes and expressions in public spaces that replicate the macho, misogynistic and discriminatory culture that continues to take lives and lacerate dignities in the private lives of many women,” he assured.
In the same vein, deputy Verónica Bátiz Acosta, also from Morena, stated that “it is not enough to disapprove the statement of this official (Romeo Gelinec). It is necessary to demonstrate that we live in times of change characterized by the conquest of human rights for all social groups, particularly women”.
Congresswoman Elizabeth Chia Galaviz, from PAS, clarified that the opinion of the aforementioned councilor was in a personal capacity, and that the party does not share it as a political institute.
“What was expressed by one of our militants does not represent what in the Sinaloense Party we have been fighting for, we do not share his ‘personal opinion’ and for this reason, we immediately requested that he issue a public apology to all women, and we ask that in the performance of his position on behalf of the party to refrain from issuing ‘personal’ expressions which do not represent what is established in the statutes of our political institute”, he pointed out.
He even commented that the aforementioned alderman has already made public a message where he expresses all his respect for women and acknowledges the mistake made.

“The Parliamentary Group of the Sinaloa Party, from this Tribune, apologizes for the expression that one of its militants, who issued in a personal capacity, and reaffirms its commitment to the right of all women to decide about their bodies,” he said.
