Demonstrations Convoy Finland protest continues on Sunday, with two arrested on Saturday suspected of violating official opposition

The work of journalists was disrupted during the demonstration both on Friday and Saturday.

Convoy The Finland demonstration continues at the Citizens’ Market on Sunday. Introducing himself as a protester Niclas Rauma confirmed the matter to HS.

Rauma said earlier on Saturday to HS ready to be on site for even weeks: “If the situation calls for it,” he said.

Inspector Katja Nissinen told HS on Sunday morning that police were following developments. However, after ten o’clock on Sunday, the Civic Market was quiet.

Police have been informed that the demonstration will continue at the Citizens’ Market from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day until Wednesday.

Convoy Finland opposes interest rate restrictions and measures and demands halving the price of petrol and resigning from the government.

On Sunday, a small number of protesters were at the Citizens’ Market.

Saturday The police ordered the end of the Convoy Finland 2022 demonstration in front of the Parliament House on Saturday at around 6.30 pm and the dispersal of the crowd, as the protesters had not remained in the designated area.

The Citizens’ Market had been designated as Convoy Finland’s actual demonstration venue.

“The organizer has not brought the demonstration to a legal level and has not transferred the demonstration to the Citizen’s Square upon request,” Helsinki police said on Twitter at around 6.30 pm.

In the process police said they arrested a total of 15 people in a demonstration on Saturday because of disruptive behavior.

Helsinki police told HS on Sunday afternoon that all those arrested had been released. At the same time, the police specified the protection against arrests as crimes and disturbances. In addition, police said they suspected the two detainees of violent opposition to the official.

According to the Helsinki police, several hundred people had gathered for the protest, but a much smaller number than on Friday.

A Save Sote demonstration was also held in front of the Parliament House on Saturday, saying it said it was opposed to forced vaccinations in the sote sector, according to a statement made to the police. Although these were two separate incidents, in practice at least some of the protesters were the same in both.

Friday during the demonstration, police moved hundreds of cars off Mannerheimintie and arrested 55 people. The majority are suspected of stubbornness against the police. The two arrested the night before Saturday are suspected of violent opposition by the official.

Media activity was also disrupted during the demonstration on Friday and Saturday. Mightily and Iltalehti reporters said they experienced physical and verbal harassment at the Convoy demonstration on Friday.

There were also attempts to disrupt the live broadcast of MTV News. On Saturday, at least Iltalehti’s editor was harassed so that he could not do his job, Iltalehti’s editor Tuomo Hyttinen said On Twitter.
