The Defense Forces is undergoing a multi-day exercise in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

In the fishing port the Redi shopping center on the night was filled the night between Wednesday and Thursday with terrain costumes and assault rifles.

The Defense Forces are conducting a multi-day exercise in the Helsinki region, which aims to develop basic combat methods for the troops. The exercise is part of the conscript training plan.

“The task is to search for and arrest the identified individuals in the mall,” Captain Jukka Saarela told Red about the exercise.

Saarela describes Redia as a good training place due to its large size and facilities that span many levels. There are several similar facilities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and the Guards Jaeger Regiment must be able to operate in all of them.

“This is such a challenging environment to operate, that’s why this is really good.”
