Decorations Johanna Rusanen, Hannu-Pekka Björkman and Teemu Keskisarja receive Pro Finlandia medals

The medal will be awarded to ten artists this year.

Opera singer Johanna Rusanen, actor Hannu-Pekka Björkman and the historian Teemu Keskisarja are among the artists who have been awarded the Finnish Lion’s Pro Finlandia Medal this year.

In total, the medal will be awarded to ten this year.

The other winners are photographers Marja Helander, Artistic director and actor of Turku City Theater Mikko Kouki, sculptor Pertti Kukkonen, dancer-choreographer and executive director of Dance Theater MD Anniina Kumpuniemi, professor and architect Anssi Lassila, circus artist and artistic director of Circo Aereo Jani Nuutinen and a folk musician and music researcher who retired as CEO of the Music Promotion Foundation in June Hannu Saha.

For artists Pro Finlandia medals have been awarded since the 1940s. The medal is awarded by the President of the Republic, who is the Grand Master of the Order.
