São Paulo Mayoral candidate Pablo Marçal (PRTB) said that the current administration of the candidate for reelection, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), was not elected by popular vote and that he is a “flat spare tire”.
Marçal commented on the issue of preserving historical monuments and that Nunes “failed” to do what was needed. “When you mentioned the relationship between a historical monument being listed, it is seven times more expensive than a private renovation. It is clear that the current administration has failed to do what needs to be done. Once again, a step-by-step administration.”
The candidate also provoked Nunes, saying that he would “continue forever” as vice-mayor, since he was on the ticket of former mayor Bruno Covas (PSDB). “The spare tire that was installed is punctured and, in fact, only those who were elected mayor can be called mayor. Those who were elected vice-mayor will remain vice-mayor forever.”
He said that the “quality” of Nunes’ administration has left the capital in “chaos.” “The spare tire that is governing the city has commitments to 12 political parties. The position of vice president is a spare tire, but the quality of the person who was put in his place without a single vote has left our city in chaos.”
Still speaking, Marçal accused the Nunes administration of having the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) infiltrated the city hall. “Your decision on this coming October 6th may be to put someone very small to run a very large city… Put someone with a small mindset, someone who is already tied up to his feet with commitments to political parties, someone who is hostage to the daycare and bus mafia. We know that the PCC has infiltrated many areas, including this city hall.”
