The dead included two children, according to the Lebanese health ministry. The government and the Shiite Islamist group Hezbollah have blamed the explosions of nearly 3,000 locators on Israel, which has not officially commented on the blasts. The equipment had been ordered by the militant group from a Taiwanese company. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had banned his militants from using electronic equipment such as cellphones as a means of communication, out of fear of being tracked by Israel.
