Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip warned yesterday that more than 3,500 children are at risk of death in the Strip, due to Israeli starvation policies and lack of food and medicine.
The sources said: “More than 3,500 children under the age of five are at risk of gradual death in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli army’s policies of starving children, lack of milk and food, lack of nutritional supplements, depriving them of vaccinations, and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid for the fourth week in a row, amid terrible international silence.”
The source added, “These children suffer from malnutrition to an advanced degree that has affected the structure of their bodies, which actually exposes them to the risk of contracting infectious diseases that destroy their lives, delay their growth and threaten their survival, as they now lack access to basic services, such as food and health care.” And periodic medical follow-up, and their conditions are worsening and becoming more difficult in light of their deprivation of vaccinations and medication doses allocated to them at the beginning of their years of life.”
The source stressed that “children need a radical and immediate solution to all the crises to which they are systematically exposed by the Israeli army, first and foremost the provision of food, health care, nutritional supplements, vaccinations, and food intended for children.”
