W.e need to talk. Talk about us. Because it has to do with us. With each of us. Yes, we take steps, we move. Nevertheless, we have the impression that we are treading on the spot. And this impression is not misleading. Because measured against the changes that would be necessary, we are not really moving. And so we grumble about “the politics” that are responsible for it. And that is also correct. But at the same time we know that it has to do with us as well, with each of us. Politics will not go ahead if we do not move. But we won’t get any further if politics doesn’t move.
With all of this, time is on our necks. Three years, five years, a maximum of ten years – we don’t know for sure, but we know that we don’t have much time. This situation forces us to pause for thought, especially in view of the limited time we have left. As early as the 1960s, Theodor W. Adorno pointed out the need for such pauses in breathing, which would not be exploited as a sacrilege in practice. So let us ask: why don’t we act as we wish we should act?
