Nine people were killed and 18 are still missing after a flash flood and mudslide hit Kangding City in southwest China’s Sichuan Province on Monday, local authorities said.
The flood caused a bridge to collapse and destroyed several houses, Xinhua news agency reported.
China has witnessed a number of similar incidents that have claimed the lives of dozens of people in recent weeks.
