Dead | Anna Wahlgren, the author of the children’s book, has died

Anna Wahlgren became famous for her child-rearing guide Lapsikirja, published in 1983, which became a classic child-rearing book in Sweden and also an international bestseller.

Swedish author Anna Wahlgren has died at the age of 80, his daughter said on Friday.

Wahlgren died at his home in Goa, India. He turned 80 on Thursday.

Born in Lund in 1942, Wahlgren became known especially for his child-rearing guide published in 1983 A children’s book (in Swedish Barnaboken), which became a classic child-rearing book in Sweden and also an international bestseller.

He has written other educational guides, novels, a children’s book and an autobiography.

Wahlgren has also been titled “the mother of all of Sweden”.

According to his family, Wahlgren died peacefully at home after a long illness.

“We mourn our mother deeply. We are grateful for everything she gave to us, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and so many others until the end,” Wahlgren’s children wrote in a joint message.
