the belgian Wout van Aert (Jumbo) gave a blow of authority in the fourth stage of the
Tour de France, in which he won alone, this Tuesday in Calais.
Already wearing the yellow jersey, Van Aert went on the attack in the last 11 kilometers and reinforced his position at the top of the general classification.

The Belgian had finished second in the first three stages, in Denmark.
On this occasion, the former cyclocross world champion attacked on the final climb of the course, Cap Blanc-Nez, and managed to stay alone despite the resistance of the British Adam Yates, the last to maintain contact.
in goal, Van Aert overtook in eight seconds the first group of pursuers led by the Belgian Jasper Philipsen, who raised his arms over the line thinking he had won.
“All day we were ahead, all in order to avoid falls. You have to work in that direction and that’s why there is stress. The issue of the wind makes the group nervous, but we have had a good time”, commented Martínez.
The Colombian is still close in the general classification and hopes not to lose time in this Wednesday’s stage, in the pavés section.
“We are healthy and we are doing well. What comes next will not be easy, because the pavé stage will be key” commented.
One of the leaders of the Ineos team, Martínez spoke about Van Aert’s attack.
“We knew that this final climb was dangerous, we took it forward, very carefully and without neglecting ourselves. Jumbo took it quickly, the batch was split, but we were attentive, which is the important thing”, the Colombian sentenced.
