The first is second in the general classification and the second rose, this Saturday, to seventh place, in a sensational Giro.
Martínez finished matchday 20 in third place and hours before he had received a visit from his family, who came from Colombia to see him at the end of the competition.
“It is a great satisfaction to have them. Family is an incentive and being at the end of the Giro is a different plus. Almost a month away and with them here, it gives me energy to finish the race in the best way,” Martínez said.
“I was inspired by my children, they are small, and I hope that one day they will see it. I have worked hard for this,” said the Colombian runner.
