The horse “Danieh” confirmed to Shadwell, under the supervision of Musabeh Al Muhairi, and the leadership of Dean O’Neill, that he was the fastest when he surpassed all the radars, to crown the fourth round title, the Al Quoz Speed Championship for the first category for a distance of 1200 meters, with a prize of $ 1.5 million, sponsored by Azizi Real Estate Development.
The grass track attracted speed stars from all over the world, including Britain, America, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia, and the surprises continued with an unexpected victory for the unqualified champion who participates in this distance for the first time.
The elite speed horses were seeking to reserve places for them in the major international races, and the horse “Danieh” climbed the ladder of fame when he presented a wonderful show in the arts of the attack, before his knight put him in the forefront in the middle of the field, and increased his speed to reach the finish line, ahead of his runner-up by a head. “The Astrologist” for “Built Racing”, and “Al-Suhail” for Godolphin came in third place, and the champion descendant of “Invisible Spirit” recorded a time of 1:08:61 minutes.
Sheikha Hessa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum considered that Dania’s victory for Shadwell was a surprise. We expected him to win, but we made the decision and said we will try and we will not lose anything.
Knight Dean O’Neill confirmed that the race was ideal for him, but he needed to continue pushing hard until the last second, given the closeness between the horses. He said: “I thank Sheikha Hessa bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum for her continuous support and passion for horse racing.”
Musabeh Al Muhairi, Dania’s trainer, confirmed to Shadwell that he transferred the horse from the sandy race to the grassy one because of his confidence in horses on the grassy ground. He said: Dania always performs well with training, and has previously achieved first place in the 1400-meter grass race, so I had a feeling before the start of the race that he would be the champion, given that the distance was 1200 meters, it was very good, and I was very confident in him.
