The report was made immediately after its discovery, after which Stuk’s employees visited the load and the area around the site.

Radiation Stuk’s research revealed the radioactive isotope 90 of the strontium metal, which is used, for example, in paper mills to measure the quality of paper in paper mills.

The substance found is dangerous to health, especially if it enters the body or comes into contact with the skin.

The radiant material found in the scrap load was recovered and transported safely to the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority’s storage of radiant substances.

The origin or intended use of strontium is not yet known.
