The total number of fatalities recorded due to DANA and the subsequent floods that affected the province of Valencia has increased to 215 deathsas announced this Tuesday by ‘Europa Press’.
An autopsy has already been performed on all of these people and all of them are also fully identified, two weeks after this catastrophe occurred, the October 29, 2024.
In depth
This is collected in the statistical balance with the historical accumulated since the beginning of the episode prepared by the Data Integration Center (C.I.D.) and which closed at 8 p.m. this Tuesday, November 12, as indicated by this organization in a statement.
Of the 215 identifications, 167 have been produced through fingerprint analysis and 45 by DNA, while three cases correspond to hospital identification while alive.
Fewer disappearances
For their part, the ante mortem offices, enabled by the National Police and the Civil Guard in collaboration with the forensic doctors, currently count 17 active files for disappearance reports, six less than those registered until yesterday, Monday, at 8 p.m..
Both parameters, active disappearances and the total number of fatalities, are different, so “They should not be added in any case“.
The ante-mortem files of missing persons that are active correspond exclusively to complaints where relatives have provided different information and provided biological samples in the police offices that will allow subsequent identification of loved ones.
