Eugenio Amos, who will be forced to skip the Dakar due to Coronavirus positivity, is a frozen shower.
The driver from Varese should have taken part in the 2022 edition in the SSV Class paired with Paolo Ceci.
Last week a swab had already detected the positivity of the Lombard, but he waited for the second round of checks in the hope that it would become negative.
Unfortunately, even the last molecular to which Amos underwent confirmed the presence of Covid in his body, therefore the forfeit was inevitably triggered.
“I am obviously destroyed, I cried a lot but now I accepted the situation – explains Amos bitterly in a video posted on social media – You all know how much we have worked and how much we cared about this participation. Patience, it will be for next time”.
Amos is only the last of the registered competitors to have to raise the white flag; in recent days the Dutch Van Loom and the Spanish Sara Garcia had also said goodbye to the race in Saudi Arabia for positive Covid.
