The season of electrification responds to the name of Dacia Spring. The SUV-looking city car launched by the Renault brand with the ambition to establish itself on the EV market is confirming the Romanian brand’s plans, with the second consecutive month at the top of the ranking of the best-selling electric cars in Italy. If they had been in September 1,876 units sold, October ended with 1,777 cars registered for more than 4,000 units delivered since the debut. The secret? Obviously the highly competitive price but not only. Overall, Dacia Spring has been able to slip into the groove traced by the brand in recent years, also adapting to the new “value for money” concept on which the car manufacturer controlled by Losanga has been working for several months.
An electric that offers the essentials and that adapts to city needs. It does not matter if there are no fine finishes. To demonstrate the goodness of the project are once again the numbers that we have already listed. Spring was able to conquer 24% of Market Share in October, climbing to fifth position in the market of 100% electric vehicles if we consider the total registrations since the beginning of the year with a share of 7.9%. If we consider the picture of monthly sales as a whole, Dacia’s first full electric is also the first EV in the general classification, with the exception of the electric Fiat 500 (whose registrations, however, also add up to those of the hybrid and endothermic versions) . The battery-powered compact finished in 12th place, even surpassing the sacred monster Duster and its cousin Renault Clio.
Dacia Spring boasts a 305 km range in the WLTP City cycle while the range of travel in the mixed cycle drops to 230 km. The powertrain delivers an output of 44 hp and 125 Nm of torque immediately available, for a top speed of 125 km / h. Its habitat is the city thanks to its compact size, strong also of a wheel angle of 38 ° but above all of a turning radius of 4.8 meters. Through the Eco Mode, a button that can be activated from the central console, energy savings of 9-10% can be achieved by limiting the maximum speed of the vehicle to 100 km / h and also the power. Dacia Spring starts at 19,900 euros and goes up to 21,400 euros for the Confort Plus, with both price lists falling to 9,460 euros and 10,960 respectively thanks to the incentives on electric cars with scrapping.
