Today, the UAE Government Cybersecurity Council announced the launch of a specialized training course in the field of “ethical hacking” as part of the series of training programs for the “Cyber Sniper” initiative that the Council launched last year in partnership with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
This comes within the framework of implementing the Council’s comprehensive strategy to secure the digital infrastructure in the country, support secure digital transformation, and raise the readiness of government agencies to confront emerging cyber threats and develop their capabilities to address them.
The course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand cyber penetration methods and techniques, and how to test information systems and networks in search of vulnerabilities and security vulnerabilities before they are exploited by hackers, in addition to introducing participants to how to use advanced penetration testing tools and programs, in addition to best practices for ensuring Security of information systems and networks.
Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council of the UAE Government, stressed that the “Cyber Sniper” initiative embodies the country’s firm commitment to being a leading model in the field of cybersecurity at the global level, noting that this initiative contributes to building a strong national workforce in the field of cybersecurity. It is capable of protecting the country’s vital infrastructure and effectively responding to advanced cyber threats.
He pointed out that the initiative comes within broader efforts made by the state to enhance the culture of cybersecurity, and represents an important step towards a secure digital future for the state, stressing that cybersecurity is a collective responsibility that requires the participation of all members of society.
The “Cyber Sniper” initiative aims to enhance the skills of national competencies through training employees of government agencies in the country who work in the fields of information technology and cybersecurity.
Through the course, the Council seeks to develop the expertise of a number of professionals in federal agencies and enhance their skills in the field of penetration testing and information security, to contribute to protecting the country’s digital infrastructure from cyber attacks and to address emerging cyber threats to ensure the security of information systems and government networks.
This training comes in cooperation with leading international partners in the field of cybersecurity, such as “SANS”, “EC-Council”, and “Offsec”.
