How much improved Cyberpunk 2077?
Cyberpunk 2077 finally got the expected next generation update. There patch 1.5 allows PS5 and Xbox Series X / S players to play a native edition for these consoles. All PS4 and Xbox One players who have purchased the futuristic RPG of CD Projekt RED now they can upgrade for free and see for themselves if this year and a half of waiting was worth it. In this regard, content creation channels such as ElAnalistaDeBits already have a first comparison ready: the new video focuses on the PS5, PS4 Pro and PS4 versions.
The first thing that stands out is that although CD Projekt reports on its official website that Cyberpunk 2077 runs in dynamic 4K resolution on PS5, the reality is that “in all areas tested, its resolution is 1440p,” reports the YouTuber. The title has been adapted to the new generation, halving its size and significantly reduced loading times, while also adding an improvement to the lighting and shading system.
On the other hand, it is also highlighted that Ray-Tracing mode adds shadows, but does not apply to reflections or global lighting. Other positive aspects of the game on PS5 are the draw distance and the anisotropic filter, added to the higher density of NPCs on the screen and compatibility with the DualSense controller.
Here’s what things look like in terms of resolution and frame rates per second according to the YouTuber results:
- PS5 Performance Mode – Dynamic resolution 2160p at 60 FPS (usually 1440p)
- PS5 Ray-Tracing Mode – Dynamic resolution 2160p at 30 FPS (typically 1440p)
- PS4 Pro – 1224p dynamic resolution at 30 FPS (usually 1080p)
- PS4 – Dynamic resolution 1080p at 30 FPS (usually 720p)
