CD Projekt Red said today, Wednesday, September 1, that the release of the two giants is still planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S later this year. In the company’s latest earnings report, the study said the “target” date of Cyberpunk 2077 for the next gen it is positioned at “end of 2021”.
With regard to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the owners of the latest generation consoles will be able to play it starting from the same indicative date, that is towards the end of the current year. It would be a period for which no delay is foreseen at the moment and the Polish studio seems determined to strictly respect the timetable.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S edition of Cyberpunk 2077 will make the most of the power that these systems will offer in addition to previous generations, and both the look and feel of the game will be improved. The same goes for The Witcher 3, which will come complete with all expansions released previously, as well as new content inspired by the hit TV series created by Netflix, whose second season is eagerly awaited.
Both titles they will be free for people who have already purchased Cyberpunk 2077 And The Witcher 3 for other platforms. As part of CD Projekt Red’s financial briefing, the company also announced that developers are working on Cyberpunk 2077 they are gradually migrating to other projects.
The percentage of developers working on the famous shooter and the next-gen version has gradually decreased compared to six months ago. It appears that the biggest redirection of staff took place towards the first expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 and towards “other projects” not better clarified.
During the first half of the financial year, the CD Projekt Red group achieved revenues of PLN 470,617,000 (Polish zloty), compared to PLN 363,998,000 last year. Additionally, the studio hired some members of the Cyberpunk 2077 for help and to improve the game.
We remind you that the patch 1.3 of the title could hide some important news regarding the component multiplayer, which may be included in the game following the update.
Also, one of the projects involving the Polish studio at the moment could be The Witcher 4, for which a launch period has already been hypothesized and which, according to some rumors, would already be in the very early stages of development.
