Ping pong tables made from confiscated drugs and cages with heart-shaped balloons, which represent children in the process of migration, are some of the works that visitors to the sixteenth edition of the Biennial can discover until March 8. from Cuenca, in Ecuador, whose motto is 'Maybe Tomorrow'. For this three-month artistic exhibition, 29 projects from 19 countries participated, including Ecuador.
The biennial takes place at a time of tension in Ecuador due to the outbreak of violence related to drug trafficking and organized crime, as well as the militarized response of the State. For this reason, its organizers invite us to think about another future through art. This is how its director, Hernán Pacurucu, explains it.
In this Culture program, we also talk about 'La Gran Noche del Pop', the Netflix documentary that allows you to discover behind the scenes of the historic recording of 'We are the world', this song that brought together almost 50 of the most important stars of the time in a studio with the aim of producing an anthem, which would help fight against the famine in Ethiopia.
And we close with our section dedicated to music, to the sound of 'Resonate', the new album by the French duo Papooz; 'Aspiration', by the French Zaho de Sagazan; 'Something very strange', from the Spanish Morad; and 'Beautiful people (Stay high)', by the Americans The Black Keys.
