On September 8, World Literacy and Culture Day, the Constitutional Court will meet at Palazzo della Consulta, in the presence of the Head of State and the highest officials, all the protagonists of the Podcast Meetings, to witness the centrality of Culture in any process of rebuilding a community. The event will begin at 7.00 pm and will end with a concert by Maestro Nicola Piovani, Oscar winner and new Academician of Santa Cecilia, as well as one of the protagonists of the 30 Podcast Meetings. The event will be filmed by Rai Cultura and broadcast on Rai 5, at 9.15 pm on 8 September.
The Incontri series was created as part of the Constitutional Court podcast library project born on 2 June 2020 to promote knowledge of the Constitution and awareness of active citizenship. Since 12 February 2021, the Meetings with writers, directors, poets, economists, philosophers, scientists, artists, actors, musicians and other worlds of culture have taken place, on a weekly basis, for all the months of the pandemic. The series will end on 10 September with the meeting between the President of the Constitutional Court Giancarlo Coraggio and the Director of CERN Fabiola Gianotti on the theme “Law and Science”.
Thirty external interlocutors of the constitutional judges: Natalia Aspesi, Marco Bellocchio, Stefano Boeri, Massimo Cacciari, Silvia Candiani, Eva Cantarella, Cristiana Capotondi, Gianrico Carofiglio, Evelina Christillin, Carlo Cottarelli, Colin Crouch, Veronica De Romanis, Simonetta Fiori, Luca Formenton , Bruno Forte, Fabiola Gianotti, Monica Guerritore, Emilio Isgrò, Vittorio Lingiardi, Elena Loewenthal, Francesca Mannocchi, Dacia Maraini, Franco Marcoaldi, Mario Martone, Paolo Mieli, Nicola Piovani, Antonella Polimenti, Gianfranco Ravasi, Marco Travaglio, Stefano Zamagni.
The themes were chosen by each of them and range from prison to the secular state, from the electoral law to the integration of foreigners, from the protection of relationships to the more specific one of affectivity. And then again: justice, the fragility of democracies, the challenge of the environment in the contemporary world, the risks of digital, care, the need for a right of access to the Internet, freedom of information and that of the arts and sciences , common goods, contemporary art, memory and many others.
All the Meetings were also realized thanks to the collaboration of Maestro Riccardo Cimino, Tommaso Orioli for post production and Roberto Pedicini for the voice of the theme song. The musical theme that acts as punctuation was composed and performed by Riccardo Cimino, Tommaso Orioli and Andrea Giovalè.
