Culiacán, Sinaloa.- Lucia and Ramón García are a couple originally from Culiacán who will carry a bit of the Mexican gastronomy to the Superbowlwhere they will delight attendees with free samples of sinaloense style sushi.
“We are a love story of Japanese sushi in the hands of a Sinaloan”, with this motto the couple describes their family business called Sushi-to, which was selected along with 32 other food establishments by Pepsico to participate in this great sporting event. .
In an exclusive interview for the DEBATE, Lucia said that the sinaloense style sushi He was very present during the courtship with his now partner. However, when they emigrated to the United States they missed their homeland, its gastronomy and above all this dish.
In the absence of their favorite dish, they decided to start a family business to make Sinaloan-style sushi known to Americans and the people who live in this country.
Despite the difficult start, little by little and with help they were able to prosper in their business and become loyal customers who seek them for their great seasoning.
“It was very difficult because as immigrants you feel that the doors are closed. So we started with nothing, here they helped us a lot, but we were up to date,” said the woman.
Among the help received by the couple was that made by the DreamSpark Foundation, which is located in Texas and operates in Tucson and Phoenix.
They try to help small businesses and more to us who are immigrants who don’t have credit. They have given us the opportunity, they referred us to Pepsico.
The Sinaloan reported that this Texan organization trained them with educational workshops focused on small businesses. After finishing the workshop, they were contacted by Pepsico to participate in the super bowl.

At first the couple could not believe that they were given this opportunity, until the people who advised them in their venture confirmed that Pepsico’s invitation to participate in the Super Bowl taste it was real.

“We are going to present the baked Guamuchilito roll and we are going to decorate it in such a beautiful way and it is so delicious that I am sure that all the people who do not know us will love it, what are they going to say well, ‘well, what is the sushi, Mexican-style sushi’ and we really want to know what people think when they try it,” said Lucia
