The Andalusia Technological Corporation (CTA) has taken a new step in its internationalization and impulse strategy to sustainable innovation by becoming a founding member of the European Alliance of Bioeconomy Clusters (EU Bioeconomy Clusters Alliance). This initiative, which brings together 14 clusters from 11 European countries, aims to accelerate the transition to an economic model based on circular and regenerative bioeconomy.
The general director of CTA, Elías Atienza, and the consultant María García participated in the launch event in Brussels, where a memorandum of understanding for three years among the founding entities was signed. During the event, representatives of the European Commission, industry leaders and experts in the sector discussed The key role of circular bioeconomy in the European Green Pact and the clean industrial agreement.
CTA and the Food+I Cluster are the only two Spanish entities that are part of the founding team of this alliance. Your participation reaffirms the role of Andalusia in the European ecosystem Bioeconomy, a sector that is called to play a key role in decarbonization and ecological transition.

A key actor in European bioeconomy

These projects have allowed consolidating a collaboration network with international partners, generating innovation opportunities for Andalusian companies and technology centers.
The 14 founding clusters of the EU Bioeconomy Clusters Alliance come from countries such as Germany, France, Finland, Italy and Portugalamong others. It is expected that, throughout 2025, new entities interested in strengthening bioeconomy at European level will be added.
The launch of this alliance coincides with the Review of the European Bioeconomy Strategya key political framework to guarantee the sustainability and competitiveness of Europe in this sector.
