Cruz Azul will face one of the most difficult games of his season. After the stoppage for the FIFA Date, the Celeste Machine will receive Tigres at the Azteca Stadium in a match corresponding to day 13 of the Grita México 2021 League MX tournament. The team led by Juan Reynoso needs all three in points to continue climbing positions in the general table and try to classify among the top four teams in the table.
The cement producers contributed several players to some national teams to face the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL qualifiers. Luis Romo, player of the Mexican National Team, did not have as much participation with El Tri in the duels heading to Qatar 2022, however, he was touched and his participation against the UANL team is in doubt.
Romo participated from the start in Mexico’s tough game against El Salvador. In the duel against La Selecta, the Cruz Azul midfielder suffered a hard tackle that left him limping in some moments of the match. The player was not seriously injured, but the blow was hard.
For this reason, their participation in the duel this Saturday, October 16 is not guaranteed. Orbelín Pineda and Julio César ‘Cata’ Domínguez reported back to the Machine without presenting any discomfort and they will be able to start with Miguel Herrera’s team.
Cruz Azul is currently in sixth place in the table, while Tigres is in fifth place. Both squads play more than three units in this duel. This may be the first step towards direct qualification to the league.
