In the wake of the resumption of economic activity in the country after vaccination and the drop in deaths caused by the coronavirus, maritime cruises are authorized to operate on the Brazilian coast from next Monday (1). The ordinance, signed by the deputy minister of Health, Rodrigo Cruz, was published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU) this Thursday (28).
According to a note published by the Ministry of Tourism at the beginning of October, the return on activities should inject R$2.5 billion into the national economy and generate around 35 thousand jobs.

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) is still preparing a complete protocol with the rules that must be followed by vessels.
The text published in the Official Gazette says that travelers on board with symptoms should seek the vessel’s medical team to perform the covid-19 test and remain isolated from everyone else.
Anyone who tests positive, detectable or reagent will have to be isolated in a specific booth for this purpose. The quarantine will have to last 10 days for mild cases and 20 days for more severe ones, counted from the first day of symptoms.
