The sprinter complained that she was entered in other races without her knowledge, the government asked for immediate repatriation but she “barricades” herself at the airport
She allowed herself to criticize the regime and so the Belarusian sprinter Kryscina Timanovskaya was withdrawn from the Olympics and forcibly taken to Tokyo airport to be repatriated. As soon as she arrived at the airport, the 24-year-old athlete asked the police for help, also denouncing the fact by posting a video on social media.
The sprinter was supposed to run the 200 tomorrow but, she complained on Instagram for having been registered at the last moment, and without hearing her opinion, in the 4×400 relay. The reason? Replacing the athletes who did not leave for Japan due to the lack of tampons. “Our garments always decide for us – he wrote on Instagram – but everyone prepares for their specialty and puts all their efforts into preparing for their own competition …”
The request for repatriation was immediately triggered and she also appealed to the IOC which asked the accompanying managers of Belarus about the situation, who explained that the request for repatriation was due to the athlete’s unstable psychological conditions. The Belarus Sports Solidarity Foundation (Bssf), the NGO that supports opposition athletes, reported that no doctor visited Kristina. Now the 24-year-old is still at the airport and in the custody of the Japanese police and the plane where she was supposed to board would have left without her who is apparently taking action to seek political asylum from the Tokyo authorities.
