Analyst Aad de Mos already predicted that Feyenoord would face ‘a very difficult second half of the season’. Club icon Willem van Hanegem looked at his club from the stands in Alkmaar on Sunday and concluded ‘that the new thing is now finished at Feyenoord’. Former player Jan Everse soberly analyzed that a club that does not win away matches against Vitesse, FC Utrecht, FC Twente, FC Groningen and AZ, ‘does not get further than 3rd place’. And to top it all, even found it own Feyenoord TV this week that ‘Marcus Pedersen with his walking ability and depth would have suited Owen Wijndal better’ than the solution with Lutsharel Geertruida.
With ten league games to go, the view on Feyenoord is apparently changing. Where this season in Rotterdam initially just about everything was regarded as pure profit, criticism now seeps through more often.
