The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development of Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Martínez Arroyo, described as “surprising” that the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, supported on Tuesday the effort made in Murcia in irrigation, putting it as an example , when «Castile-La Mancha is the region that irrigates with the greatest efficiency in our country». This was stated yesterday by Martínez Arroyo in Madrid, during his visit to the XIV edition of Fruit Attraction.
In this sense, he pointed out that, in Castilla-La Mancha, 85% of the useful agricultural area is rainfed and only 15% is irrigated. “And it is done efficiently, with a higher percentage of drip irrigation and a lower percentage of blanket irrigation in all of Spain by far.”
Summit with Andalusia
On the other hand, the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Environment and Emergencies of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Luengo, met yesterday with his counterpart from the Junta de Andalucía, Carmen Crespo, with whom he analyzed the main challenges that confronts the agriculture of the Spanish Levant. Both regional officials warned that their governments will not tolerate “more unjustified attacks and cuts by the Government of Spain” to the Tajo-Segura Transfer.
