Wesenberg welcomes a new chapter of the global artistic initiative of the painter and sculptor called ‘Ambito’
The beautiful wetland of Wesenberg, a small town northeast of Berlin, hosted this Saturday a new chapter in the global artistic initiative of the painter and sculptor Cristóbal Gabarrón (Mula, 1945) called ‘Ámbito’, in which the renowned artist paints in direct a large-format work while various local creators display improvised interventions that feed off each other. On this occasion, the proposal came with the title ‘Knocking at the gates of heaven’, a starting point that has been evolving thanks to these plastic interventions, whose joint action is at the core of ‘Ambito’, adopting the name of ‘Seven sounds, one score’.
The setting was the Bei Wu Sculpture Park Wesenberg, a sculpture park that combines an outdoor space with indoor rooms, with which Gabarrón maintains a close relationship. This museum belongs to the Peter Wilmot Thompson Foundation, which thus becomes the third partner of the Gabarrón Foundation to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its creation through ‘Ámbito’.
