Cristina Scocchia succeeds Massimo Pogliani, the effect of the appointment starting from 1 January 2022
Change at the top of Illycaffè, one of the most famous food brands made in Italy: Massimo Pogliani, the manager to whom the Illy family had entrusted the company already in 2016 and then renewed their trust in 2019, leaves his post and will be replaced by Cristina Scocchia, already on the board of directors for three years. The appointment will take effect on January 1, 2022.
"In consideration of the positive phase of the capital market and the will to start the listing process - explains the Trieste group - as well as the will of Massimiliano Pogliani to pursue other professional experiences, the board of directors has agreed to bring forward the expiry of the mandate, in order to ensure a unitary management of the entire 2022 financial year ".
Massimiliano Pogliani, the first managing director of Illycaffè outside the historic family of entrepreneurs from Trieste, has contributed to the growth of the company during the six years of activity, in particular in the consumption at home, in the segment of portioned coffee and online sales, as well as in achieving of important results in sustainability, confirmed by obtaining the B-Corp certification.
"With the opening of the capital in Rhone this year, Massimiliano Pogliani completed illycaffe 'management path, for which he was entrusted with his first mandate in 2016 "he commented Andrea Illy, president of illycaffè. "In thanking him for his work, I express a detail appreciation for the company's resilience in the pandemic crisis and the growth impressed on digital and food channels ", specified the president.
