at the driver’s house Sergio Paroldi (46), in the Villa Zagala neighborhood, San Martín, no one has slept all night. “Yesterday I came home late. I turned on the TV to see what was known about the attack on Cristina and suddenly I saw a photo of my tenant on the news. It was Fernando!”, says the owner of the house, between stupor and fear.

In the living room of the house where he lives with his girlfriend, the television is still on. “I still can’t believe it,” he says, as he walks toward the studio apartment he rented from Fernando Andrés Sabag Montiel, who was arrested yesterday after pointing and triggering a weapon against Vice President Cristina Kirchner.
About eight months ago Sabag Montiel lived in that room of 15 square meters on the back of Paroldi’s land. But until early today, when Federal Police officers entered to search the place, the owner of the house was not aware of the conditions in which his tenant lived.
Added to the stench of the toilet, which seems to have been covered up for several days, is the broken sink, the dirty pots and, on the floor, a pile of blankets, clothes and food, among which numerous bags of potatoes, women’s lingerie, various dildos and a black leatherette whip. The police seized boxes with about 100 bullets.

“All this is not so messy because it was scrambled by the police. It was like this before they started to check,” says Fabricio Pierucchi, social worker and best friend of the homeowner, who has been at the home since last night.
It was the two of them, along with two friends who work in the Municipality, who showed up at around 3 o’clock at the police station to make a civil exhibition. “What is most surprising, apart from the smell and dirt, is the amount of fetish elements. We had no idea of this facet of his”, adds Pierucchi.
There are several people who knew Sabag Montiel: his tenant, the tenant’s friends and the other tenants. However, everyone agrees on one thing: the 35-year-old Brazilian looked like a normal person. “He didn’t seem crazy in the slightest.
He was always very polite. He called me ‘Sir’, always with respect. That is why we are so surprised”, says Paroldi, who now worries about changing the locks on his house as soon as possible.

According to what the vice president’s aggressor told them, he worked as a driver. He had three cars: two he rented and one he used himself for trips.
The cars, he said, were in the center, at an address in Paternal. For this reason, she used to travel by bus from San Martín to the Capital.
What did attract attention was his little social life. “No one in the area knows him. He didn’t speak anything. With me it was ‘hello and bye’. She saw little or nothing. And he always went in and out alone.
Just a few weeks ago he appeared with a redhead. I’ve seen her come in two or three times. And I thought: ‘it’s good that she now has a girlfriend,’ ”says the owner. His tenants enter the common patio through a differential door.
Sabag Montiel came recommended by a married couple who used to rent the studio apartment before him. They had said that he was a trustworthy person. And he seemed so to everyone, until yesterday.
As it has been possible to investigate from his Facebook profile, the young man born in Brazil follows the pages “Hermetic occult sciences” and “Coach antipsychopaths”.
In addition, he is part of several internet groups that share content with neo-Nazi ideology. As can be seen in one of the photographs published in his profile, the defendant has a “black sun” tattooed on his right elbow, a drawing that refers to an occult branch of German National Socialism, the political party of Adolf Hitler.

“I saw that he had a large tattoo on his arm, but I never paid much attention to it. It would not have occurred to me that it was something rare,” says Paroldi. His great fear, currently, is that his ex-tenant or some of his colleagues will come looking for him. “If he targeted Cristina like that, he could have targeted me too. I don’t know if he acted alone, the police still don’t know that. It scares me that now neo-Nazi friends of his will come here looking for me for having called the police,” she says.
