Cristiano Ronaldo, João Moutinho and Rafael Guerreiro will not be part of the entourage of the Portugal team who travels to Switzerland to face the Swiss in the League of Nations on Sunday, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) reported today. Cristiano and Guerreiro did not participate in this training
Cristiano and Guerreiro did not participate in training this Saturday at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Oeiras, outside of Lisbon, while Moutinho did work with the rest of the group.

At a press conference after training, the Portuguese coach, Fernando Santos, advanced that the three absences are due to “normal management” of the squad.
The cause of the absence
“They are not physical problems, it is a normal management. It would not make sense to have 26 players that they travel to Switzerland when they can only be 23 on the bench,” he explained.
“In the last games we were doing the best management and now the choice fell on these players.”
Portugal, which leads group A2 of the League of Nations with 7 points, 2 more than Spain, visits Switzerland this Sunday, “one of the teams that grew the most in the last ten years, including in 2016,” Santos defended.
“Very good quality, players of the highest level, very well organized and that they are always present in the final phases and that they finish first in the groups”, said the Portuguese, who considers that they are “very consistent”.
And despite the fact that Portugal thrashed Switzerland in Lisbon a week ago (4-0), Santos warned that this match was “abnormal”. “But they created a lot of problems for us at certain points in the game,” he said.
