Although his body seems to say something else, Cristiano Ronaldo also spends the years. The Portuguese footballer, who turned 37 years old a few weeks ago, has been in the elite of world football for more than a decade and the time to say goodbye is drawing near.
In an interview with the European platform ‘DAZN’, the popular ‘CR7’ faced the passage of time and referred to the moment for which no footballer is prepared: retirement.
The goodbye of ‘CR7’
“I know that it won’t be many years before I stop playing, I hope four or five more, but I hope to continue winning things”was the first thing Cristiano Ronaldo said about the moment of his goodbye.
“My career has been a very beautiful journey. I left a mark everywhere I’ve been. I believe that there is no player in history who can reach, well, perhaps he can reach the figures, but not to have that pride of saying ‘where I have gone, I left my mark’. And that leaves me happy,” continued the Manchester United player.
The man who has successfully passed through four teams from different countries is aware that everything has its end. Although his physical preparation, at his age, is enviable, the career of ‘CR7’ also has an expiration date.
“You have to be smart and know that being 20 years old is not the same as being 35. That is the maturity, the experience, the intelligence to understand that maybe you lose in some things but win in others and have the right balance to be able to continue competing and be at the highest level,” he told the interviewer.
For now, Cristiano Ronaldo will be active this Saturday against Watford, at 10 am, for date 27 of the Premier League.
