Prosecutor has filed charges in a large-scale drug case related to the Swedish Dödspatrullen criminal network. A total of 27 people are accused, sixteen of whom are imprisoned in Finland. The accused are mainly men aged 20-30.
A large number of the accused have come to Finland from abroad for the purpose of selling drugs and organizing sales. Some of the accused have lived in Finland longer. Among the accused are numerous different nationalities.
It is about a drug organization run from Sweden, which is suspected of having brought hundreds of kilograms of drugs to Finland between last fall and spring. The police have previously said that the group would have brought more than 350 kilograms of drugs and medicinal tablets from Sweden to Finland in truckloads. Some of the Swedes indicted have close connections to the Dödspatrullen network, known for being violent.
The most serious of the charges concern aggravated drug crimes and aggravated money laundering. Prosecutor Perttu Könenen among the defendants are several persons who are required to receive the maximum penalty, i.e. 13 years in prison.
The hearing of the case is scheduled to begin at the Helsinki District Court on November 16.
