Crimes Keijo Vilhunen: The criminal cooperation with Jari Aarnio was wider than known

At the unveiling of the book about Vilhu, the former gang boss described himself as an accomplice to Aarnio rather than a source of information.

Former gang boss Keijo Vilhunen says he knows for sure the former head of the Helsinki Drug Police Jari Aarnion the extent of drug trafficking.

In an interview with HS, he says that Aarnio has been involved in smuggling 500–800 kilos of hashish to Finland a year. This has continued since the turn of the millennium until Aarnio was captured in November 2013.

What is the estimate based on?

“For my own experiences,” says Vilhunen. He says he committed crimes with Aarnio for a decade before he was caught.

Vilhunen gave HS an interview at the unveiling of a book about his life on Wednesday. Aki Linnanahti in a book he wrote Vilhunen (Otava) tells new information about the common crimes of Aarnio and Vilhunen.

The duo has been convicted of smuggling hashish barrels from the Netherlands to Finland in 2011–2012. Vilhunen was sentenced to ten years in prison, and Aarnio to a total of 13 years.

Vilhusen according to Aarnio earned millions in the drug business. The distribution of money between him and Aarnio went about evenly. Neither of them was the boss.

“I got it from Aarnio by ordering hashish.”

Aarnio also offered to buy drugs himself, Vilhunen says.

According to Vilhunen, for example, Aarnio had offered him a 141-kilo lot that was caught in the Netherlands in late 2011.

Vilhunen says that he considered the substance to be of such poor quality that no shops were created. The substances ended up with another hard-working criminal, convicted in the first branch of the barrel case Raine Sievälä.

According to Vilhunen, he did not know for sure that Aarnio was trading in drugs with others.

“It was never said directly because Aarnio tried to keep them apart, of course. Of course I guessed. That only survived with certainty when the minutes came after Sievälä was caught. ”

At the press conference, Vilhunen said that he was more of an accomplice than a source of information for Aarnio.

Vilhunen says he made “little assurances” in case his and Aarnio’s speeches were weighed against each other. He refuses to say what the assurances were.

“I’m not talking about them, but I always have to see that there’s something.”

These assurances, he says, also exist if Aarnio disputes the book’s claims.
