The victims of aggravated rape and exploitation were between 13 and 15 years old at the time of the incident.
South Karelia the district court has sentenced a man born in 1999 to more than four years in absolute prison for aggravated sexual offenses against underage girls.
The man was convicted of, among other things, two aggravated rapes and three aggravated sexual abuses of a child that took place in Lappeenranta in 2017–2018. The victims of these crimes were between 13 and 15 years old.
According to the public report of the district court verdict, at the age of 17, the man had forcibly forced a 13-year-old girl to have sex with her, even though the victim had opposed the act. Sex was unprotected and caused pain to the victim.
Of justice according to the target was a 13-year-old child who, as perpetrated by the perpetrator, had been intoxicated and therefore more vulnerable than usual. The author, on the other hand, was almost an adult. According to the law, it was aggravated rape and aggravated sexual exploitation of a child as a young person.
A few months later at the time of the act, an 18-year-old man had had sex with a 14-year-old girl in the toilet. In addition, the man had had intercourse with the victim at another location and penetrated the victim’s vagina with his fingers. The man had also tried to get the victim to give him oral sex. The intercourse was unprotected and caused pain to the victim, the public statement says.
According to the district court, the offense was aggravated in view of the quality of the sexual exploitation and the difference in age and maturity of the parties, so the court found the man guilty of aggravated sexual exploitation of a child.
In addition the man had forcibly forced a 15-year-old girl to have sex with her at the age of 18, the report says. The victim had expressed word of mouth and by kicking that he opposed sexual intercourse. Despite the bans, the man had continued unprotected intercourse for about half an hour. The act was, according to the district court, aggravated rape and aggravated sexual exploitation of a child.
In her response to justice, the man denied guilty of aggravated rape and aggravated sexual exploitation of the child. However, the court held that the victims ‘accounts were supported by other evidence, so the court could assess the events on the basis of the victims’ reports.
District Court sentenced a man born in 1999 to four years and seven months in prison. The BTI does not publish the man’s name to protect the victims.
The court delivered its verdict on Friday. The judgment, which was largely kept secret, and the public report prepared for it were submitted to BTI on Monday.
